Leigh's Trip to India
How
does one put into words an experience of a lifetime? My heartfelt
gratitude goes to the founders of the Oneness University, Sri
AmmaBhagavan.
Every religion is welcome to be there. What they teach is that if you
are a Christian then be a Christian if you are Jewish then be Jewish if
you are a Buddhist then be a Buddhist.
In my process we had Monks, Christians, Mormons and Jews.
This is my story and
if you asked everyone they would have their own story. We were in
silence for 18 days and what a wonderful and mystic time it was. When I
got there I had judgment about some of the people but when I left I
could see the God in everyone. We had over 200 people from all over the
world including a lady from Pakistan and nine from Israel and we all
had our own emotions and old hurts to go through. There was anger,
tears, joy, laughter and sadness but in the end we came out in joy.
It does not matter if you are Gandhi or Mother Theresa everyone has
anger, frustration and sadness. It is what you do with it. That was the
strongest lesson that we had but more than that you cannot get over
these emotions without Grace. That is where the Oneness Blessing comes
through. The blessing helps to clear the neural pathways in the brain.
It helps to promote higher consciousness and acceptance of self and is
called The Art of Experience.
We are waiting for
Dr. Andrew Neuberg to have the scientific research and proof by March.
He will have the Oneness Being's here in the United States to test
their brains when they are in the Theta State of Mind. Oprah Winfrey
has asked them three times to come to her show but they want to wait
until the research is ready. Tony Robbins has also been invited but he
turned her down too because all he could do is talk about the Oneness
Blessing. He donated land to Fiji to the cause.
The last day we were
there two of the dasas-monks came to talk to us and showed us a video
of the celebrations in Africa. Over 10,000 people came from all over
Africa and joined hands in celebration. There were many healings,
tears, laughter, and dancing. We did not have one dry eye after seeing
this moving display of love and gratitude. You can find the video at
www.onenessafrica.org
Personally, I
believe that this is what the world has been waiting for when we,
regardless of race, religion or creed, can come together for peace,
understanding and joy and know that we are all One. That will be our
1,000 years of peace.
To experience this
phenomenon you can call me for an individual session or have a group
session at Namastae on Monday or Thursday night at 7:30. I will be
offering the blessing on a love offering and 10% of the offering will
be sent to the Oneness University for Israel. If we can find peace in
the Middle East we will have made it.
I must admit, now that I have been out of the country, I am happy to be
back on American soil. We, as Americans, have alot to be grateful for.
But, what we can learn from the people in these poverty stricken
villages in India is what love is all about.
I look forward to seeing you all soon.
With much love, Leigh
THE HISTORY AND BENEFITS OF COLON HYDROTHERAPY
In years past, knowledge and care of the bowel was more widespread and people were taught how to care for the bowel. Somehow, bowel wisdom got lost and it became something that no one wanted to talk about anymore. My goal is to provide each of you with the information you need to help throw off the taboo and mystery surrounding Colon
Hydrotherapy.
The therapy of the colon (large intestine) and its benefits have been known and practiced for hundreds of years. Dating back to ancient times, enemas were recorded as early as 1500 BC in an Egyptian medical document entitled, “Eber Papyrus.” Hippocrates, Pare and Galen also advanced the use of enema therapy. At an early time in America, enemas were a commonly used procedure to help maintain health and stave off disease. Our grandparents and great-grandparents grew up with the use of enemas as a widely accepted procedure for reversing the onset of illness.
In the early 1900’s in Battle Creek Michigan, John H. Kellogg, M.D., extensively used colon therapy on forty thousand of his patients. In 1917 he reported in the Journal of American Medical Association that in all but 20 cases, he used no surgery for the treatment of gastrointestinal disease in his patients.
The popularity of colon therapy reached its apex in the 1920’s, 30’s and 40’s. At that time, colon irrigation machines were commonly seen and regularly used as a standard practice, in hospitals and Doctor’s offices. But in the following 50 to 60 years, the public’s use and access to this valuable health treatment greatly decreased. The public’s present lack of knowledge regarding this, and other personal health care treatments, together with the widely held belief by orthodox medicine that such treatments are no longer useful … may be the single most important factor in the current ill-health of our population.
A healthy colon is the key to living a healthy life. The colon (large intestine) is the end portion of the human digestive tract. The colon is approximately 5 to 5 ½ feet long and 2 ½ inches in diameter. Its major functions are to conserve water in the body and to eliminate waste from the body. There are friendly bacteria living in the healthy colon which synthesize valuable nutrients such as vitamin K and B complex. The average person, who is at their normal weight for their height and age and isn’t noticeably allergic to things, may have 10 to 25 pounds of dried fecal matter in their colon. Unfortunately, the average American does not have a healthy colon.
The typical American diet, consisting of high-fat, low-fiber, refined junk foods, is the primary reason the colon becomes unhealthy. The toxins generated from accumulated waste matter in the colon, are responsible for many body imbalances which can lead to very serious weight and health problems. Also, the average American diet includes less than a fraction of the fiber foods necessary to promote elimination of toxins from the body. Poor diet and lack of dietary fiber make maintenance of a healthy colon almost impossible. Virtually all weight challenges can be traced to imbalances in the colon/digestive tract as either the main or secondary problem which leads to slowdowns in many critical body systems, like the endocrine and circulatory system.
Proper bowel management and health will never be achieved through the use of drugs and/or surgery. The answer lies in the time-proven and natural approach … Colon (Hydro)therapy! In the last 10 years there has been a resurgence of interest in alternative medicine and personal health care responsibility. Once again people are discovering the many health benefits of maintaining a strong and biologically sound colon. This return to the use of colon hydrotherapy has been bolstered by the development of sophisticated colon therapy. These new techniques make these therapies both safe and convenient.
The usual colon hydrotherapy lasts approximately 45-60 minutes. A small speculum is inserted into the client’s rectum. This speculum is attached to a plastic hose which connects to the colon irrigation machine. The colon hydrotherapist then adjusts the volume and temperature of the water coming out of the machine which runs through a plastic hose into the client’s rectum and through the entire colon. This client is temporarily filled with water, based on individual tolerance. This will induce peristaltic contractions in the colon, and the client will begin to expel fecal matter through a special hose which leads back to the colon irrigation machine and through a clear plastic viewing tube. This procedure is much gentler than the enemas of years past. It should be noted that most patients need a series of colon irrigations … not just one. The client may expel considerable gas during the first few treatments. It usually takes a few treatments before one starts dislodging old encrusted feculent matter. One should remember that it usually takes years for the colon to become clogged up with its own waste products. Therefore, one should not be impatient when pursuing a therapeutic course of colon irrigations.
If you experience any of these health problems, you need to cleanse your body’s elimination system. Colon Hydrotherapy is an excellent way to accomplish this!
v Frequent mental confusion
v Fatigue
v Low energy and vitality
v Frequent severe headaches
v Constipation
v Diarrhea
v Abdominal gas and bloating
v Foul body odor
v Bad breathe (halitosis)
v Chronic skin problems (acne)
v Lower back pain
v Sciatic pain
v Low resistance to colds
v Frequent infections
Colon Hydrotherapy is most beneficial in helping to restore good health. Here are some of the ways it helps:
v Clears the colon of old, hardened waste material and harmful toxins
v Restores proper pH balance to the body
v Stimulates the immune system
v Allows for free passage of nutrients into the bloodstream
v Helps prevent toxic absorption via healthy mucosa
v Provides a favorable environment for bacteria and micro flora for digestion
v Strengthens natural muscular contraction activity in the colon
v Promotes return to normal, regular bowel movements
Colon hydrotherapy has helped many people to overcome difficult health problems and is helping many more to maintain good health. It has been proven to be the key to living a healthier and more vibrant life!
"The Latest Buzz in Biofeedback Therapies," by Pat MacEnulty
Technologies in alterative health care are making "quantum" leaps. One of the latest developments has occurred in biofeedback. Now, according to some biofeedback practitioners, revolutionary software systems can not only help identify electrical patterns in your body; they can also replace negative vibrations with healthy ones, enhancing your well being and relieving stress.
Melissa Rogers, owner of Pathways Unlimited, explains it this way, "The system focuses on your energetic body and measures nutrition, vitamin levels, minerals, enzymes, health of internal organs and more through the electricity you generate. It then sends back neutralizing or balancing frequencies to enhance or counteract the body’s own resonances."
Dr. Bill Nelson, who has a background in quantum physics, electrical engineering and energetic medicine, developed this technology. The science seems complicated, but how it works is not nearly as important to most people as the results.
Rogers says that clients come with such issues as migraines, TMJ, other stress-related symptoms, aging, chronic pain, ADD, ADHD and more serious problems. Sessions last approximately an hour and a half to two hours, during which the client is hooked up through wires attached to the head, ankles and wrists to a small box housing one of the software systems (known as QXCI, EPFS or SCIO) which is connected to a laptop computer. The procedure is painless and non-invasive, and clients report that results have been anywhere from moderate improvement to "remarkable."
According to Rogers, the goal is to help clients achieve optimum health. She noted that the therapies can also be used for skin rejuvenation and enhanced athletic performance. She counts racecar driver and Daytona 500 Winner Derrick Cope as one of those who has found satisfying results in pain reduction with the method.
Mary Crowder, a Charlotte realtor who has been receiving treatments off and on for about a year, said, "I noticed a big difference in my energy level. I felt better. I left there after a facial, and the first comment I got was that I looked ten years younger."
"I think it’s pretty phenomenal. I’ve even had results from a long distance session. I was driving out of town and had a really stiff neck. While I was on I-77, I called Melissa and she basically did an absentee healing by plugging my information into the machine. By the time I got to Columbia, I had no pain."
Rogers and her colleague Marci Solomon also work with animals. "Animals respond even better than people," she said, "because they don’t doubt the process."
Rogers’s points out that biofeedback is based on pure physics - the laws of energy and electricity. However, some practitioners may use their intuition and experience to help clients identify lifestyle changes that can increase the benefits achieved through biofeedback. There is also a metaphysical side to the practice. Many metaphysicians believe that thoughts influence reality. Biofeedback is complementary to that process, Rogers says, by showing how the body responds to various forms of energy.
"If you believe that thought becomes form then this is a tool to help you direct your thoughts and create a more healthy reality," Rogers said.
Biofeedback practitioners must take several levels of courses, including anatomy, and pass a test in order to be certified. There are a number of practitioners now working in the Charlotte region with the equipment as well as established health-care practitioners who have added the biofeedback therapies to their practice.
Linda Day, a nurse who does colon hydrotherapy, recently purchased a SCIO machine and trained with Nelson. She’s been pleased with the results that her clients have experienced.
"I’ve had one client who received all the injections she could have for a degenerative disc, and this is one of the therapies that she has used for pain reduction," Day said. "She reported back that after the biofeedback session, she slept better than she had in months."
Day mentioned that one of her favorite biofeedback programs is one that "balances the hemisphere of the brain." She says it is popular because it reduces the chatter in the brain and induces a state of calm.
"I think the system helps the body remember how to balance itself. Our bodies have an innate intelligence, and this system helps utilize that intelligence," she said.
Another local practitioner, Kathryn Shearer is a hypnotherapist and has found that the biofeedback machine can enhance the results that her clients experience. Now she has more options to offer - hypnosis alone, hypnosis in conjunction with biofeedback or biofeedback alone.
"I’ve been working with a client who with hypnosis only wasn’t able to bring her blood pressure down. We added biofeedback and we brought her blood pressure down 34 points. Then she used self-hypnosis to calm herself and bring it down even further. When we link the biofeedback to self-hypnosis, we help to entrain the body to hold the blood pressure in an appropriate range."
Shearer believes that the biofeedback device is an effective tool to help people stop smoking, lose weight, and alleviate anxiety, depression and panic.
"My associate Patricia Hawn works with kids who have learning disabilities and she’s getting amazing results," Shearer added. In addition to Hawn, Shearer works with two other associates: Karen Gross and Rae Lorenz, a practitioner and consultant for Quantum Alliance, the organization that provides sales and training for practitioners.
"The four of us are also training people to use the device here in the southeast," Shearer said. "The word is getting out about biofeedback and we’re swamped. People want to experience it."
Shearer stresses that in order for the therapies to work, the client must have the intention to heal and be open-minded. "You still have to take responsibility for your behaviors," she said. "It doesn’t take control away from the individual. But I haven’t had experience with anyone who didn’t make some progress."
Prices for biofeedback therapy can range anywhere from $75 to $200 a session, depending on the practitioner and the length of session and ancillary therapies.
